At Gallery 2 on Edward, we are passionate about art!

It is our belief that the display of artwork in a home or office environment enhances and enriches the lives of those exposed to such works.  They inspire, transport, lift our spirits and bring us joy; above the humdrum, every day stresses and strains of daily life and it’s many mundanities; reminding us that there are beauteous and bountiful rewards available, to be both enjoyed and appreciated.

It has been written that a thing of beauty is a joy forever.  So it is with art.  A piece chosen with care and passion will bring the recipient pleasure for many years.  A piece chosen for display in a public place will enrich and inspire many who view it and in a few possibly provoke a negative reaction, for such is the diversity of human nature and the subjectiveness of art appreciation.  No matter; the important thing is that the art is viewed and appreciated by many.  If the viewing of an artwork provokes discussion and debate, then it also stimulates human social intercourse and that is an essential and desirable function of art.

But it is the view of Gallery 2 on Edward that the main function of art is to bring beauty and purity of form into the lives of those who choose to enjoy it and to take us physically and mentally, to new spaces and new places.
